Finding a flat in New York can be a real nightmare. My husband and I had lived in upper Manhattan for the bulk of our marriage, and we did not like it there.
The two of us worked in Brooklyn, so we were hoping to be able to find a nicer studio in Brooklyn Heights. Despite the fact that the apartments were more pricey there, not only was it a great area, but we might both be able to be a lot closer to our jobs.
We received a call from one of the apartments that we had looked at, and they told us that they were interested in giving us an interview. My husband and I went for the interview, and we managed to get the apartment. The only problem was that we were going to have to move out of our old loft and be without a place to live for one month, because our new place was not going to be prepared in time. My husband and I decided that we are going to just stay in a hotel until we managed to move into our new apartment.
We looked for a NYC mini storage unit, and we found a company called storage NYC. We put all our valuable things in storage, and we moved into the hotel. It was nice living in a hotel for a month, but it was also very expensive. My husband and I were so excited when we were finally able to start the process of moving our things into our new place. Our new place was awesome, it was gigantic, beautiful, and it had two bathrooms.
The movers came in and we got all of our stuff out of storage and put it in our new apartment, and now we’re finally settling in. It took us quite a bit to find a great apartment in the area that we wanted, but now that we’re living in Brooklyn, my husband and I are both very happy in our new neighborhood.
